Overview

The End Food Poverty Project is a flagship global social impact initiative under the Manchester–Oxbridge Partnership (MOP). This project aims to bring together the academic talent, research capabilities, and civic leadership of the Universities of Manchester, Oxford, and Cambridge to address one of the most urgent global issues: food insecurity.

Mission

The mission of the project is to catalyse innovative and evidence-based solutions to end food poverty around the world. This will be achieved through rigorous research, advocacy efforts, influencing policy, and implementing community-based interventions.

Key Objectives

The project seeks to foster student-led research and collaborative efforts that address the root causes of food poverty, both locally and globally. It will establish partnerships with international organisations, food banks, local councils, and social enterprises to deliver practical and meaningful impact on the ground. Additionally, the project will organise global dialogues, panel discussions, and public engagement events to raise awareness and influence food-related policies. The initiative will also position the participating universities as key anchor institutions leading the global conversation on food justice and security.

Why It Matters

Millions of people around the world continue to suffer from food insecurity, including vulnerable populations in both high-income and low-income countries. By leveraging the unique platform provided by MOP, the End Food Poverty Project aims to combine academic rigor with practical engagement to develop scalable and lasting solutions to food poverty.

Get Involved

The project welcomes the participation of partners, volunteers, researchers, international agencies, and community organisations who share the commitment to eradicating global food poverty. Whether you are a student, policymaker, or donor, there are many ways to collaborate and contribute to this vital cause.
